GameSpot recently gave us a nice hands-on preview on the Wii version of Need for Speed ProStreet. And here, -=}{oT~dEv1L 666=-’s HQ would like to give you an insight into this preview, breaking it down into sizeable and readable bits, and giving you our comments and thoughts on this.
Basically, with Need for Speed ProStreet, EA Games are still staying with street racing, but it will be like taking some of the standard street racing events that have been in the previous NFS games and putting them in an all-new environment.
The general aim of the game is to become the king of street racing, and you’ll be able to do that by completing different types of races, like drag racing, drift racing and speed challenges. The different events will take place in 14 different locations, and each event will consist of multiple races.
Also, in Need for Speed ProStreet, racing is now taken more seriously, as your cars can be totaled. You will have to start all over again if you total too many cars at one location.
The Wii version of the game were shown to the reviewers, and as expected, you control the cars’ movements by holding the Wii remote sideways and tilting it side to side.
Besides this, the game also has three levels of assists. Family mode lets the game take care of braking and some of the steering. Racer-level assists, on the other hand, gives you a manual control of the vehicle without you losing control of it. King mode, however, will disable most of the assists.
Throughout their hands-on session on Need for Speed ProStreet, the reviewers concluded that the Wii version of ProStreet handled quite well in overall and it looked better than Carbon did, and expected a quite positive reception from the gaming community.
Well, from this hands-on preview of Need for Speed ProStreet, I think it might open doors for better racing games on the Wii in the future. What do you think about this NFS ProStreet Wii Hands-on? Kindly give us your thoughts and opinions on this topic by writing us a comment.
