Time certainately flies when you’re having fun. It’s only a month till Christmas. Like what I said in my previous posts, there are certainately lots of games to play this holiday season. In this three part feature, I wish to come up an elaborate Christmas games shopping list for all of you. Without much further ado, I wish to begin on part three of this three-part feature…

Jump To: Part One | Part Two | Part Three
Kane and Lynch: Dead Men (PC, PS3, Xbox 360)
After his son’s death, Kane decides to a member of The 7, an elite mercenary group. Years later, a mission in Venezuela goes terribly wrong. Kane escapes with the loot as the only survivor, but is caught and sentenced to death. The survivors of the 7 want the loot back and they want to deliver the punishment due to a traitor - death to him and his family.
Kane is busted out of the prison van and offered a deal by The 7. His wife and daughter will be spared if he returns the loot. Lynch, a medicated psychopath sentenced to death for the murder of his wife, is busted out of prison with Kane to be his watchdog and make sure he fulfils the deal.
Therefore, Kane and Lynch are thrown together in an intense, volatile alliance. They will use harsh methods as they fight to save Kane’s family and take revenge on The 7, hating each other every step of the way. Get this game if you loved the Hitman and Grand Theft Auto series. Not for the faint-hearted.
(Summarized from the full description found at the official site.)
Need for Spped: ProStreet (PC, Xbox 360, PS2, PS3, PSP, Wii, Nintendo DS, Symbian OS)
In this latest game in the Need for Speed series, you race to become the race king. There are 3 assist modes to choose from: Race, Casual and King. You get to race in different races, such as Drag, Speed and Circuit. Need for Speed: ProStreet also features next-gen graphics, an updated autosculpt feature and an advanced vehicle damage system. This game is for the car-lovers and casual gamers. Hardcore Gamers should find this game boring.
Mass Effect (Xbox 360)
It’s a game of aliens and humans - a role playing game. The story revolves around an ancient alien prophecy stating that every 50,000 years a portal opens that separates the “normal” universe and a realm beyond, releasing an ancient artificial intelligence that will harvest all organic life, and the time of their return is approaching.
Shepard, a human Spectre - the defenders of galtic peace, has a mission to halt the advancing armies of Saren, a Spectre agent gone rogue. Saren has taken control of the Geth, a race of primitive A.I. networks, whom he intends to use to shape the galaxy in his image, and to exact revenge against humanity for their perceived injustices against his people.
In Mass Effect, you get to play as Shepard and his comrades as you fight against the rogue armies of Saren. You get to make choices, and whatever you choose to do in the game will effect the game’s ending. Get this game if you would like Halo fused with Diablo.
Unreal Tournament 3 (PC, PS3, Xbox 360)
The number one first-person shooter on the PC is back, with updated graphics, vehicles, maps, weapons and game modes. Unreal Tournament 3 (UT3) features a brand new game engine, Unreal Engine 3. It also has bigger maps and updated versions of Unreal Tournament 2004’s (UT04) weapons, with some of them replaced by other weapons. There are also new vehicles, in addition to the return of UT04’s vehicles. The game modes in UT3 include Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, Capture the flag, Duel, Warfare and Vehicle Capture the Flag. If you liked Halo or Quake, then you should get this game.
Manhunt 2 (PS2, PSP, Wii)
Last but not least, we have Manhunt 2, my favourite game in this list. That’s why I chose the best to be the last. Although Manhunt 2 is the only game on my “Games to get this Christmas” list that isn’t a next-generation game, it finally gives gamers a reason to get a Wii or turn on their PlayStation 2s.
Manhunt 2 is great on the PSP. Its graphics almost has no difference when compared to the PS2 version, and the AI is superb. The controls are easy to master, although the gameplay will be a little bit to hard for casual gamers. The learning curve is therefore steep.
Although it might take a little patience to complete or even master this game, it is totally worth the buy. Killing on the go has never been so amazing. Get this game if you love Grand Theft Auto, Hitman or the original Manhunt game. Once again, I would like to thank Rockstar Games for Manhunt 2, as well as for the Grand Theft Auto IV boxart and the upcoming trailer 3.
Voila! This is the end of the three-part “Games to get this Christmas” feature. I hope you enjoyed reading it. Anyway, don’t just take my word for it. If you have to try out the game before purchasing it, what you can do is to download the demo from it’s official site, the PayStation Network or Xbox LIVE. Enjoy yourself, and have a Merry Christmas!
