Grand Theft Auto IV gets a release date in Japan
Rockstar Games has announced today that they will be releasing a localized version of Grand Theft Auto IV in Japan in collaboration with Capcom, on October 30th 2008. The Japanese version of Grand Theft Auto IV will have dialogue and texts totally translated to Japanese.
As reported by Denjeki Online (via Kotaku), the Japanese localized version of Grand Theft Auto IV will be priced at ¥8,390 (US$76). It will be released for both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, with a PC version unannounced. The game has so far received a “Z” rating from CERO.
While most Japanese game shops have been importing Grand Theft Auto IV since its worldwide release on April 29th 2008, Japanese gamers should be happy to know that the biggest game of the year has finally received a release date.
The box art has also been put out by Rockstar Games/Capcom, and we were surprised not to see the Rockstar Japan logo on the box art. The most interesting thing, however, will be to see how the dubbing of the voiceovers in the game will turn out like in Japanese.
With the recent announcement of the PC version of Grand Theft Auto IV, as well as the release date of the Xbox LIVE downloadable episodic content getting closer, more announcements and news will be dished out, so don’t forget to be stay tuned to us for more news and updates!
