The Electronic Entertainment Expo 2008 (E3 2008) hits us in a matter of days. Many video game developers will be keeping mum till the big surprises hit us on the week of E3 2008. The convention, which is held in Los Angeles, will be expected to showcase some exciting news.

However, before the big event, let’s have a look at some of the pre-convention things that are about to happen in the computer and video gaming industry. Some of the more exciting things include a free, new Halo 3 map from Bungie to be released tomorrow.

Tomorrow, July 8: “Bungie Monday”

This Monday, July 7 2008 is Bungie Day on Xbox Live Marketplace. This means… free stuff! There will be free gamerpics and a gratis theme that are available on that day only, along with a new map called Cold Storage.

The Bungie Weekly Update has also stated that the Halo 3 Legendary Map Pack will have its prices slashed from 800 Microsoft Points to 600 Microsoft Points. Definitely, tomorrow is going to be a seriously crazy monday for us Xbox 360 guys!

Rock Band gets The Who’s downloadable songs

On July 15th, Rock Band players will get to purchase a line-up of classic The Who jams as downloadable content, including three selections from “Who’s Next.” The full list of tracks to be included in the The Best of The Who Rock Band Edition pack are listed below.

Amazing Journey
Baba O’Riley
Behind Blue Eyes
Eminence Front
Going Mobile
Leaving Here
My Generation (LIVE)
Real Good Looking Boy
Sea & Sand
Summertime Blues (LIVE)
Who Are You
Young Man Blues (LIVE)

It sure sounds great, as there are a couple of songs there that I will definitely be looking forward to, such as Eminence Front (which was also in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas’ soundtrack), Baba O’ Riley (CSI: New York!) and Behind Blue Eyes. Since Rock Band downloadable content works with Rock Band 2, it’s real great news!

Burnout Paradise: Planes to be introduced?

Planes? Doesn’t that ring a bell? Oh yes, Rockstar Games left it out in Grand Theft Auto IV. Sure, Criterion games will fill in the void in their latest action sandbox racing title. Yes, they added bikes, but this time, it will be even crazier.

Criterion said that they will begin working on introducing planes into Burnout Paradise. We still have got no idea how that will work, but crashing planes, cars and bikes sure sounds like a great idea for those still hoping for a Dodo to appear in Grand Theft Auto IV.

GamesRadar: Wikipedia article match-ups!

Wikipedia is a cultural phenomena, isn’t it? Sure. Being the “encyclopedia that anyone can edit”, it seems that gamers, geeks and kids alike can now be as influential as even a university professor in this day and age where anything goes on the internet.

GamesRadar has written a nicely organised feature on this Wikipedia phenomena, discussing how several video game articles and topics on Wikipedia beat their real-life counterparts in terms of article word length. Do give it a look here!

The End…

Yes, this is the end of another video games related article. It has been a great time typing this up, I hope you have had a great time reading it, too. Do give us your comments if you have something to say, if not, don’t forget to be stay tuned for more news and updates!

Today, we’ve got an unfortunate update. The highly anticipated System Software version 2.4 update for the PLAYSTATION 3 has been taken off of the Sony servers. Version 2.4 was pulled due to many problems that were reported. The problems affected all models of the PS3 console and caused glitches ranging from microphones not working to games “freezing” before they loaded, such as Call of Duty 4.

The trophy system does really sound like a great feature, although ww’re not sure when Sony will finally re-release system software 2.4. With the recent Xbox 360 price drop, I would really hope that the PlayStation 3 gets a price cut too, becuase I would really love to see what it has to offer! Anyway, here’s the end of this post - don’t forget to be stay tuned for more video game news!

Rock Band 2 is being announced today by Harmonix Studios, it is set to debut on the Xbox 360 in September 2008 and on the PlayStation 3 and other relevant platforms later this year. One of the highlights is the cross-title downloadable content compatibility.

Rock Band 2 will be released on the Xbox 360 first, and although details are sparse, it is known that the peripherals and songs provided in the weekly downloadable content for the original Rock Band will still work with Rock Band 2, so you don’t have to throw those guitars and drums out or clear those songs.

“As far as Harmonix is concerned, there’s no difference between “Rock Band 1 DLC” and “Rock Band 2 DLC” – we’re just releasing awesome songs every week onto the Rock Band platform, all of which are playable by the Rock Band titles that support DLC.” - Dan Teasdale, Harmonix Studios

As for the downloadable songs, all future titles will work with the current downloadable content, so that Rock Band’s downloadable songs can work with Rock Band 2 as well as all future titles. In a nutshell, it means that weekly downloadable content are released for Rock Band as a series.

It has also been revealed that Rock Band 2 will feature all master recordings on disc. Many major improvements can be expected for online gameplay and a more “party friendly” set-up will also be available in Rock Band 2.

Other features that were mentioned include a World Tour feature, wireless guitars, band and player customization and user-created songs. A several new modes will also be announced soon. The full set of details will be announced over at E3 (Electronic Entertainment Expo) 2008.

For more details, read IGN’s interview with Harmonix Studio’s Dan Teasdale here.
Call of Duty: World at War Preview

CVG (Computer and Video Games) has landed themselves a new preview of Call of Duty: World at War, the next entry in the iconic war simulator series Call of Duty. This new title, which is developed by the developers of Call of Duty 3, is expected to be a blast. Read the full preview for details.

Max Payne movie scene shots emerge

Again, CVG has landed themselves a couple of nice scene shots of the upcoming movie adaptation of the Rockstar game, Max Payne. It shows a shot of a crashed NYPD patrol car, as well as a few other not-so-exciting shots. Anyway, click here to view all of them.

Metal Gear Solid 4 database announced

Konami has announced that a free downloadable add-on for Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots will be made available very soon. It is announced as the Metal Gear Solid 4 Database, which is a comprehensive archive detailing characters, weapons and plot elements from the original Metal Gear title right through to Guns of the Patriots.

MCV: According to Konami, the system allows users to search via three central hubs: GENE (a glossary), MEME (which maps the relationships between characters in the series), and SCENE (a timeline for the series).

Users can jump from page to page using specific keywords, with the relevant information appearing instantly. All information relating to Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, however, can only be accessed when the software detects a save data file created when the game has been completed, as to avoid spoiling the final adventure.

A statement from Konami reported: ‘Metal Gear Solid 4 Database is a stunning – and completely free – companion to the series, and will answer any question pertaining to Hideo Kojima’s games and characters.’

Pixeloo, an illustrator who is known for taking images of cartoon and video game characters and turning them into photo-realistic renders, has updated his collection on Monday adding a Niko Bellic render.

The Niko Bellic render, being the most recent addition to his collection of illustrations, was done up to be featured in the latest issue of Official Playstation Magazine UK, which has been available as of June 12th.

New Cheat Discovered!

There is a new cheat discovered for Grand Theft Auto IV! It isn’t the traditional way of entering button combinations, nor the new way of calling phone numbers. A GTAGaming member has discovered that if the Grand Theft Auto IV theme song jingle is playing on the Cherry Popper ice cream truck, and you try to ZiT the song, you will get a “Cheat Activated” message.

ZiT will still send a text message and it will recognize it as the Grand Theft Auto IV theme song. The cheat that you get is a Health/Armor refill cheat, and it counts towards the Number of Times Cheated statistics, so use it at your own risk!

Here’s what happened to Radio-on-foot…

This piece of news is from GTAGaming. Have you ever wondered what happened to the “Radio-on-foot” feature that was would supposedly be the most useful features on the in-game cellphone (if not counting Multiplayer)? This is what happened, according to what a Rockstar Games representative told MTV Multiplayer (read quote below).

“Some people on the team didn’t like the music/mobile phone idea for various reasons, but they went back and forth on the idea until the very end. This is VERY common. We do it in every game we make. We still prefer the balance of music in car and the ambient world’s noise on foot, but we are constantly reviewing this stuff.”
– Darlan Monterisi - Spokesperson, Rockstar Games

50 Things to do in Liberty City

Computer and Video Games have posted an article on 50 interesting things to do in Liberty City. It’s not an exhaustive list, but here you go… click here to open the article in a new browser window. There are two parts to it, all of them comes with screenshots!

Lastly, with regards to the Grand Theft Auto IV poster giveaway… Well, I have not gotten much of a good response with my last video games update, so I will just keep the giveaway on hold until I see a better response! Stay tuned for more updates!

I have recently acquired a Nokia N81 8GB, also dubbed a “multimedia computer” as with any Nokia Nseries device. I have had a Nokia 6110 Navigator previously, but the GPS features don’t really appeal much, so I got this really sexy phone as a replacement.

The Nokia N81 has such a great design (if you don’t count the buttons) that even the upcoming Nokia N96, the over-hyped successor to the Nokia N95, is using a tweaked design of the N81. The N81 also comes with two dedicated gaming keys (I’ll explain later how great it can be!), WLAN connectivity and superb music features as well.

Now, to the gaming portion of the Nokia N81, which is the main topic of this article. The N81 is designed so well it can function as a GameBoy. This can be done with GameBoy Advance emulators such as vBag X.

Along with some great GameBoy Advance games, the N81 can really function very well as a mobile gaming machine. Since it’s not really legitimate, I’m not going to write about how to go about setting up vBag X, which can be runned on the N81 or any other Series 60 Version 3 device.

However, the good thing about the N81 is that the two dedicated gaming keys can be used as the A and B buttons and the volume keys can act as shoulder buttons in a GameBoy Advance game. Since you can set the screen to be rotated to landscape in vBag X, as well as modify keys, it is good for playing GameBoy Advance games and it feels natural too.

The Nokia N81 can also run emulators of several other platforms, but the main attraction is the N-Gage 2.0 feature. There are not many titles you can play around with on the new N-Gage 2.0 platform, but more games are coming out in the future.

The N-Gage 2.0 platform works like Xbox LIVE with the Arena feature, but there are still many bugs yet to be ironed out. For example, I have had a connection problem with any access point I used to connect to N-Gage Arena. I could connect and browse succesfully with the in-built web browser, Opera Mini and Windows Live Messenger, but just not with N-Gage Arena. It’s a real shame.

Lastly, for anybody intending to purchase a Nokia N81, whether you go for the Micro-SD version or the 8GB version, I would like to add that it is indeed a really well-designed and all-rounded phone built for gaming and multimedia. It’s a really hard choice between this and the iPhone, but the N81’s multimedia functions can easily help you make a choice over another.

So, here will be the end of another blog post. I hope you have enjoyed reading this, if you are a Nokia mobile phone owner, somehow. It might even impact your mobile phone purchases. I don’t know, but Sony Erricsson doesn’t seem to match up with Nokia on the mobile gaming area. I would really love to see a Sony Erricson PSP phone in the future though. Have a nice day, guys!

Today’s Video Games update will touch on Forza 3, several pieces of Xbox 360 news, the upcoming title Call of Duty 5: World at War, as well as our beloved Grand Theft Auto IV. I haven’t been hustling for three days, but here we go… the news updates!

Grand Theft Auto IV!

Today, I would also like to direct you to a rather well done animation that parodies the Grand Theft Auto IV experience. Please do not watch this flash animation if you cannot take a joke. Go check out Newgrounds right now for the cool flash animation!

Also, I would really love to give away one Grand Theft Auto IV poster from the Outdoor Character Artwork series if it is in demand. Please voice out your raging fanboyism for Grand Theft Auto IV! Post a comment here stating interest in the posters giveaway. If there is good reception, I will plan a giveaway soon!

Forza 3 details leaked

Through a research firm called Intellisponse, and their site’s back end, a heap of details of Forza 3 have been found and plastered all over the internet. It outlines potential pricing “scenarios”, a full specification of the game itself, plans for downloadable content and details of a potential collector’s edition.

While this might be a rumour, the overview of the game says that it will include over 100 tracks and 400 cars, as well as new race modes. It will also be sold as a two-disc set. Eight “scenarios” for pricing were listed on the site, four for the US and four for the UK. You can find images of all the information here.

Call of Duty 5: World at War

As many of you know, the Call of Duty franchise is known for its World War II first-person shooter video games. However in 2007, Call of Duty 4 was released with a modern warfare setting. The next title in the series, Call of Duty 5: World at War, would undoubtably be going back to the World War II setting it is known for.

Noah Heller, the senior producer for Call of Duty 5, has stated that the title will define the World War II first-person shooter (WWII FPS) genre. Heller spoke to MCV and told them, “Modern Warfare opened the door to so many people new to Call of Duty. The game built great fertile ground for us to start on and if we’re going to say: ‘Look it’s Christmas, here’s another Call of Duty as you loved it last year’, then we need to make sure the game is high quality or people won’t trust what Call of Duty is. This has to be the best shooter and has to redefine the World War II genre.”

Call of Duty 5: World at War is expected to arrive on shelves later this year. The multi-platform title will debut on the PlayStation 3, Nintendo Wii, Xbox 360 and the PC platforms. The sales of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare has also already crossed the ten million mark. A few days ago, the CEO of Activision had also indicated a possibility of a Call of Duty MMO (Massive Multiplayer Online) game.

Friday the 13th is a day which is usually associated with misfortune. This year, Friday the 13th falls just a day after Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots’ release day. Is it really that much of a misfortune? Not so for PlayStation 3 owners, that is.

MGS4: Guns of the Patriots

You can certainly argue that Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots is the biggest PlayStation 3 exclusive video game release to date, just like the Xbox 360’s own Halo 3. But does Metal Gear Solid 4 live up to the hype? Clearly, it does.

I’m sure many of you who are reading this have already read a great deal about this PlayStation 3 exclusive title, whether you’re a PlayStation 3 owner or not. I can’t really share the happiness of Metal Gear Solid 4’s release with you PlayStation 3 owners, because I don’t own a PlayStation 3. However, as a gamer, I’ve got to dedicate today’s post to Hideo Kojima’s great work.

Metal Gear Solid 4 would be very worth purchasing if you have already gotten a PlayStation 3 console, but it is also a really good deal as a console-game bundle. If you’re deciding wther to get it, the reviews speak for themselves. It sales might not beat Grand Theft Auto IV’s, but it’s still worth trying out!

Xbox 360 doing well, more coming up

The NPD market research group has released its May retail sales data, and Xbox 360 continues to lead the current generation of gaming consoles. It is noted that the Grand Theft Auto IV sales “continues blistering pace” on the Xbox 360, beating the PlayStation 3 version by a ratio of 2:1.

It is also stated that the Xbox 360 generates more dollars at retail for third party publishers and that Xbox 360 games outsell and outplay the competition. Among 10-26 year olds, it is also found that the Xbox 360 gets more playing time than the Wii and PS3.

Microsoft also confirmed the video games to be showcased at this year’s E3, listing Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts, Fable 2, Gears of War 2, Halo Wars, Too Human and Viva Piñata: Trouble in Paradise as its first-party offering for the Holiday season.

Crysis Warhead coming to the PC this fall

EA and Crytek have officially announced “Crysis Warhead”, which is currently in development. It will be “a parallel story” to Crysis to be developed by Crytek’s Budapest studio using an optimized version of the CryEngine 2 technology.

Crysis Warhead will unfold from the eyes of Sergeant Sykes, nicknamed “Psycho,”. He learns that “life on the other side of the island is even more intense and explosive than they ever could have imagined.”

Crytek president and CEO, Cevat Yerli, found the original Crysis’ reception by gamers and the media to be quite pleasing, but noted to the studio’s intention to raise the bar with Crysis Warhead. “With Warhead, we are focusing on refining our storytelling and game performance, while also delivering more of the visually stunning graphics and immersive, free-roaming gameplay everyone loved in Crysis,” he said.

Crysis Warhead debuts this fall, expected to come with new weapons, more vehicles and more multiplayer content. It is expected to be a hit just like it’s predecessor. More information will be released on the game closer to its launch, so stay tuned!

MTV Germany has done a parody of Grand Theft Auto IV’s European Grand Theft Auto IV TV advertisement for one of their upcoming TV shows, “Jokos Roadtrip”. It is in the same style and uses the same song as the Grand Theft Auto IV advertisement.

The songs used in both trailers in mention is called “Get Innocuous” by LCD Soundsystem which can be found on the Radio Broker station in Grand Theft Auto IV. You can listen to the full song and watch the original Grand Theft Auto IV advertisement here, if you haven’t.

Brotha strikes back at Saint’s Row 2 with a new video!

Read the secondary title above. Remember the video THQ/Violation released? It was a “Activities” trailer for Saint’s Row 2, which tried to bash Grand Theft Auto IV for its lack of childish and immature features.

Brotha - a self-appointed Grand Theft Auto video guru - has created yet another video, this time to give Saint’s Row 2 the bashing it really deserves. Watch the video over at GameTrailers, or use the embedded YouTube player on this page. Great job on the video, Brotha!

Apple has officially unveiled the iPhone 3G today. The redesigned iPhone will come in three models - the Black 8GB model, or a choice between Black or White for the 16GB model. The 8GB model will cost US$199 (SG$272) and the 16GB models cost US$299 (SG$410).

The new iPhone, said to be “Twice as Fast at Half the Price”, will come shipped with Version 2.0 of the iPhone’s Mac OS X software variant. The new iPhone 3G is said to “deliver an amazing 10 hours of talk time on 2G networks and 5 hours using 3G, with up to 5 to 6 hours of web browsing, up to 7 hours for video playback and up to 24 hours for audio playback”.

The new features said to be in the upgrade are namely Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync support (includes over-the-air push email, contact and calendar syncing as well as remote wipe and Cisco IPsec VPN for encrypted access to corporate networks), a new App Store (to purchase applications and games for the iPhone), the ability to do real-time mapping with Assisted GPS (A-GPS) technology, the option to mass move and delete multiple email messages, the addition of searching for contacts, a new scientific calculator, new parental controls, and more.

The iPhone 3G will be available in the US on July 11th 2008 in both Apple and AT&T’s retail stores and requires a new two year contract with AT&T for qualifying customers. Other selected regions will get the iPhone 3G at a later date. The new iPhone 2.0 software will also be available on July 11th as a free software update via iTunes for all iPhone users.

The new iPhone 3G, costing a lot lesser than most smart phones like the BlackBerry and Nokia handsets, could potentially win over a lot of customers. Personally, I think the new iPhone is a great bargain when compared to the Nokia N95 8GB.

What are your impressions of the new iPhone 3G that’s coming on July 11th? Discuss in the comments! Don’t forget to check out our other posts on Video Games and Technology! Have fun and stay tuned!

This is our fourth Grand Theft Auto IV post-release update. With so much going on about Ninja Gaiden II, Age of Conan and Metal Gear Solid 4, why not take a break for a short update on some Grand Theft Auto?

The guys over at GamesRadar has done a remake of Naked Gun’s cinematic introductory scenes in Grand Theft Auto IV. It’s pretty much creative and cool to watch, much like Brotha’s videos. Click here to watch!

Also, GamesRadar has posted an article discussing the topic of Grand Theft Auto IV’s Xbox 360 Downloadable Episodic Content. It’s really worth a look, over here, along with 100 little things we love about Grand Theft Auto IV! What do you think the episodic content will be? Discuss in the comments!

For those stunt maniacs, BenBuja has done a couple of stunts in Grand Theft Auto IV (Brucie Kibbutz-style) and posted the spectacular stunts on YouTube. There are helicopter bailing stunts, motorcycle stunts and car stunts! It’s pretty much a decent effort and worth giving a look at! Go check out his his YouTube account for really amazing stunts!

Recently, you might also remember in our last update that Take Two Interactive announced a delay in the first Grand Theft Auto IV downloadable content episode fir the Xbox 360. Just a few hours ago, Microsoft has informed several sites that the first episodic content pack is still on track for a “fall 2008″ release.

“The first of the Xbox 360 exclusive “Grand Theft Auto IV” episodes will be available beginning fall 2008,” MS told several video games news sites. This is going to be confusing for us, who are we supposed to believe? Microsoft or Take Two? We’ll wait for an official announcement from Rockstar Games in the meanwhile!

Stay tuned for future Grand Theft Auto IV updates! Also, if you ever need help with any Grand Theft Auto IV missions or have any queries with regards to compelting 100%, you can contact me via the contact form here. You will have to state the mission you have last completed (it’s stated in the save game) and I will try my best to help. I will answer your question(s) in the next update. Cheers, and stay tuned!

This week brings us to Grand Theft Auto IV’s third post-release update, which probably brings us to the end of our daily Grand Theft Auto IV coverage, and we’ll continue to post news and interesting happenings from around the Video Game and Technology world. We’ll still post Grand Theft Auto news, but it’s not going to be all Grand Theft Auto.

Just this week, Patrick Brown - a Grand Theft Auto fan artist (with superb quality work), has just impressed us again! Some of you here might remember his past art works, but “Grand Theft Awesome IV” is his newest one to add to his collection of works.

Brown claims, the artwork took “about 10 or so hours to create, the background itself took around 8.” Amazing work, don’t you think so? Tell us what you think! Click here to view Patrick Brown’s deviantART page along with the superb full size resolution of the amazing piece of artwork right now!

Also, as part of the Grand Theft Auto fan community, I’m posting this bit of news to encourage you guys (and gals) to support the SA-MP (San Andreas Multiplayer) team in their time of crisis. It seems that they are under attack by a former developer, and we urge you to help them in whatever way you can! Here’s the developers’ message:

A group called Zytronics headed by former developer Jacob is now trying to destroy SA-MP, they are threatening us with releasing the SA-MP source code along with our private encryption keys which would cause a security risk for all SA-MP clients and servers.

This is a serious situation. We are under blackmail threats right now that if we don’t allow him to release the client source, he’ll release the server source. He is using made up information to back up the release of the source code.

So, you know that Grand Theft Auto IV has already been out for a month, now what? Saint’s Row 2? Hmm… Saint’s Row 2 has recently tried to really openly take jealousy shots at Rockstar Games and Grand Theft Auto. Look at this one - do you think it’ll beat and take over Grand Theft Auto? Tell us what you think in the comments!

In the next piece of news, it was today announced that “in order to provide a better balance in Take-Two’s release schedule”, the first episodic content for Grand Theft Auto IV will now be delayed until the first quarter of the company’s Fiscal 2009 year.

This means that the first downloadable content episode for Grand Theft Auto IV should be expected to arrive between November 1st 2008 and January 31st 2009. It was also announced that Grand Theft Auto IV has sold approximately 8.5 million copies since the release date. The BioShock movie and future BioShock releases were also mentioned in the report.

Also, it has come to our knowledge that many of you has had problems with completing some of Grand Theft Auto IV’s missions and are stuck with no idea of what to do. If you are suffering with this “technical glitch”, I urge you to read every missions’ instructions carefully, because some of them can be spread out into parts and if you do not take the next step in the mission, the game’s story mode will not proceed.

If you still have any problems with completing any of Grand Theft Auto IV’s missions, you can contact me via the contact form right in our contact page. You will have to state the mission you have last completed (it’s stated in the save game) and I will try my best to help. I will answer your question(s) in the next update.
There has been an uproar in the Grand Theft Auto and Video Gaming community recently, with regards to the face of the Statue of Happiness in Grand Theft Auto IV. It seems that Rockstar Games have pulled off yet another spoof of New York City.

Well, the Statue of Happiness isn’t all just about spoofing the real-life Statue of Liberty in New York City. A few of us Grand Theft Auto fans have gotten up-close to the face of the statue, which (unsurprisingly) bears a striking similarity to New York Senator Hillary Clinton.

It is certainly not a great secret that the big guys at Rockstar Games have a long-time hatred for Hillary Clinton. Personally, I think this is another great easter egg in the game. Also, the guys over at GTAGaming has also done a great comparison of Hillary and the Statue of Happiness. Click here to view it.

Also, I’ve finally managed to complete Grand Theft Auto IV 100% yesterday. Surprisingly, I feel that the game is much shorter than San Andreas. Hopefully, the game’s other areas have made up for its shortcomings in the Story and Side Missions. It’s also more fun than San Andreas, although shorter.

Here’s all there is for Grand Theft Auto IV today! Be sure to check out DLH’s Skit Volume 2 and the rest of our Grand Theft Auto IV pre-release and post-release content. Do not forget to give us your comments too! Stay tuned!

Okay, this update will be longer than the previous one, it’s a summary of news from the past few days. Okay, first, if you have not spotted our Grand Theft Auto IV review, you can look it up here. I gave it a 96/100, which I think will be the best score I will ever give to a video game. Yes, I’m a big fan of Grand Theft Auto, and I love the series a lot, but this review has to be fair, if you have wondered why it was not a perfect score.

Next piece of news — it seems that the voice actor for Niko Bellic, Michael Hollick, is a little bit unhappy about the amount of money he’s been paid by Rockstar Games for providing the voice of Niko Bellic, which he had done a great job with. With so many lines of dialogue, I’m pretty sure it’s a tiring job.

Apparently, since taking on the job in 2006, Hollick has been paid around $100,000 for his work and with it being a video game, there are no performance related payments or royalties in sight. Hollick blames his union for not having proper practices in place when dealing with game voices, but he claims that it’s “tough” seeing the game pulling in hundreds of millions of dollars in revenue without getting a cut.

Well, I would be feeling the same way if I were him, too. Anyway, let’s zoom in on to the next piece of news. It seems that the uncut or uncensored version of Grand Theft Auto IV is now available in New Zealand, thanks to Stan Calif, founder and director of First Games, who was the one who spent his own time and money to submit Grand Theft Auto IV to the OFLC single-handedly.

Since OFLC had rated the uncut version of Grand Theft Auto IV and had given it an R18, this means that the uncut version of the game can now be sold legally in the country. New Zealand can now rejoice, expecially Grand Theft Auto fans there! Here is what Stan said regarding the matter:

“First Games are proud to be able to deliver GTA IV uncut to New Zealanders. We have been committed from the outset to provide Kiwi gamers with the freedom to purchase an unaltered version of GTA IV. After much hard work and expense we are now able to deliver GTA IV in the way that Rockstar originally intended”.

The last piece of news is about the Rockstar Games Social Club. The Grand Theft Auto IV multiplayer leaderboard is now live on the Social Club, which is the exact same one you see on the “Stats” page in the game. Click here to check it out!

Finaly, this is the last paragraph dedicated to locals - any Singaporeans here? You can win a copy of Grand Theft Auto IV! I’m not the one giving it away, but Sheylara is (she plays GTAIV!). Click here for the contest page. All you need to do is to write a review of her weekly “Gamer Girl Friday” article and post a comment. Contest ends June 5, 2008. Just to let you guys know, I will be holding our very own Grand Theft Auto IV giveaway very soon too! Stay tuned!

Another one. Cheers.

The black sentinel rolled to a stop in front of Rigano’s Dry Cleaning and Sergio turned the car off.

“Ok, I want you and Sergio to go inside and collect my money for the week. These assholes claim they’re not paying up since I’ve been away for so long. They’ve been paying Rusty instead. Make them understand, that holding out on me isn’t a good thing.” Richie ordered.

“Alright Richie don’t worry. I’ll take care of it.” Dickie replied.

Dickie cocked his 9mm and tucked it away in the waist of his pants. Sergio grabbed two pipes from the backseat of the car, and exited with Dickie. The two gangsters opened the glass front door of the Dry Cleaners and walked inside. Inside was only one man standing by the register. The place was empty of civilians. Dickie grabbed a pipe the size of a baseball bat from Sergio and slammed it into the register.

“What the f*ck are you doing?” Screamed the man behind the cash register, right before he was struck in the face from Dickie’s pipe.

Dickie pressed a button under the counter, and it opened a door nearby. Inside was a brothel filled with hoes and regular men. Sergio and Dickie walked passed them, pushing people out of the way as they went. They walked directly towards the office in the back and Sergio kicked the door down. The two gangsters raided the office and found Sonny Rigano there counting his money. Rigano had a body guard that immediately tried to stop Sergio and Dickie. Sergio swung his pipe at the bodyguard, but missed when the body guard ducked. The pipe went crashing into the wall, making a hole. Dickie solved this problem by pulling out his 9mm and firing two bullets into the bodyguard’s left shoulder. The bodyguard collapsed to the floor clutching his shoulder.

Sonny reached for a gun, but was stopped when Dickie fired a bullet into Sonny’s right hand. Dickie used his metal pipe and began smashing it into Sonny’s right fore arm, crushing the bones inside.

“You pay up every f*cking week to Richie from now on. If you don’t then I’ll be back here and I’ll shove this pipe up your ass you mother f*cking c*cksucker.” Dickie shouted at Sonny.

Sergio collected the money for the weekly payment and put it in his pocket. After that, Dickie and Sergio left the office and walked all the way back to the front door of the building. Just as they were about to open the door to leave, Sonny’s bodyguard grabbed Sergio on the shoulder. Sergio turned around and threw hard right punches to gut of the bodyguard. Next he grabbed the bodyguard by the throat and the waist, and tossed him through the glass front door onto the sidewalk. Glass shattered everywhere and the bodyguard passed out. Sergio and Dickie walked casually to the car. They got inside and started the vehicle up and drove off.

“Did you get the money?” Richie asked in his raspy voice.

“Yeah Rich, Sergio has it. We got this week’s payment, plus an extra five thousand dollars.” Dickie replied.

“Good work.” Richie responded as Sergio drove on. “I got a meeting with Rusty at Patrizio’s Bistro. I want you two there with me to make sure I’m not walking into a death trap or something.”

Grand Theft Auto IV is the most difficult game you’ll ever play. I’m not talking about the mission difficulty, but the reluctance you will be having when it’s time to put down the controller after a game of Grand Theft Auto IV. Yes, it’s that fun.

So, as most of you noticed, I have taken a long one-week long break from updating the blog, but I’m back today with our own Grand Theft Auto IV review. As much as I’d like to make this article a spoiler-free one, I cannot pass a grade on this great masterpiece without first assessing the Story mode of Grand Theft Auto IV. So, here’s the review…

The Story - 10/10 - Superb Story, Witty Characters, Comedy & More Choices

Grand Theft Auto IV’s main character is Niko Bellic, a Serbian who fought in the war when he was young. Traumatized, he is a good guy forced into doing bad things by circumstances. He was betrayed by a soldier in his old army unit, being the one of the three to survive.

After the war, he dealt with several Eastern European smugglers. During one of these voyages, the ship unfortunately sunk. His business partner thought that it was Niko who betrayed him. Niko then left Serbia for Liberty City, where the fun begins…

So, the story starts from when Niko and his mother recieving letters and e-mails from his cousin Roman about the good life he has been living in Liberty City. Roman claimed that he had the women, fast cars and a luxury condominium, living the American Dream. Now, with smashed dreams and in hopes of finding new opportunity and “that Special Someone” who betrayed him back in Eastern Europe, Niko goes to Liberty City.

After Niko has arrived in Liberty City, he realises that things are very different from what it seems. His cousin is a poor bloke who owns a small apartment and runs a Taxi business in Hove Beach. Soon after, you realize Roman owes money to some Russian gangsters. You also get introduced to Roman’s girlfriend, Mallorie, and her friend Michelle.

The action starts when Niko fights these gangsters off. To avoid any trouble, the Russian gangster Vlad wants Niko Bellic to work for him, which you do. You work very closely with Roman, and almost everything centers around his debts. You then get introduced to Little Jacob, Roman’s Jamacian friend.

Soon after, Roman becomes aware that Mallorie has been cheating on him by going out with Vlad. Niko decides to go deal with him, but Vlad tries to run away. After which, you need to fight your way thorugh more armed Russian gangsters and chase down Vlad. Despite Roman’s reluctance, Vlad gets killed.

You continue to work with Little Jacob, but soon after, Roman and Niko gets kidnapped by Faustin, which was angry over the death of Vlad. Niko does some jobs for him but Dimitri, his assistant, orders you to kill Faustin later on to make peace with Petrovic, a dangerous gangster you’ll never meet.

Dimitri then betrays Niko after having realized that he was the one whom they thought betrayed Bulgarin, Niko’s business partner back in Serbia. Bulgarin is Dimitri’s new ally, which leads him to be Niko’s main enemy to fight off. Little Jacob helps Niko fight off Bulgarin and Dimitri’s men, but they managed to escape.

Roman’s Taxi Depot and apartment in Broker gets burnt down by Faustin, and they excape to Bohan. There, Mallorie, Roman’s girlfriend, helps you get an apartment and introduces you to Manny and Elizabeta. Roman also calls you to meet Brucie, which you do work for.

After running errands for Elizabeta and Manny, you get introduced to Packie McReary and Frankie McReary, which you later found out are brothers. You do some more work for the McReary brothers including a bank heist, and a point where you choose to kill between two McReary brothers.

Meanwhile, you also discover that your girlfriend, Michelle, is a government agent. Her boss, U.L. Paper, needs some work done, ad you run errands for him, which aids Niko in finding the man who betrayed him.

After doing many errands, you get a call about Florian Cravic’s whereabouts, one of the three survivors of his old army unit. It turns out that he was not a betrayer, and he is now homosexual. You do some work for him, and more for the rest of the McReary family. Ray Boccino, Phil Bell, Jimmy Pegorino and Jon Gravelli also has work for you. You also meet Kate McReary as your girlfriend.

Soon, you find out that Darko Brevic has been kidnapped and brought to Liberty City by your old associate, U.L. Paper. You get to choose to kill him or let him live, but the choice doesn’t affect much of the story. Jimmy Pegorino then asks you tot do a deal with Dimitri. At the same time, Roman is also about to get married with Mallorie.

Niko gets to choose to do the deal or take revenge against Dimitri. If you do the deal, Dimitri betrays you once more. He will turn up at Roman’s wedding and kill him. If you decide to go for revenge and kill Dimitri, Jimmy Pegorino will turn up at Roman’s wedding and kill Kate instead. In the end, Dimitri and Jimmy gets killed by Niko respectively in each ending.

As you can see from above, the story mode of Grand Theft Auto IV gives the player some choices, a somewhat new form of innovation Rockstar Games have given us. You can choose whether or now to kill some innocent (or not so innocent) people. The ending can also go two different ways, tragedy or not-so-bad tragedy. The cutscenes are full of humor, but do crank that speakers up and turn that subtitles on for the the maximum effect. Witty characters and superb voice actors makes this Grand Theft Auto experience the best ever yet. Better than Vice City.

Controls - 9/10 - Better and More Realistic Controls

The controls are solid and very effective when you get used to them. It certaintly feels natural shooting and driving with the Triggers. The controls don’t differ much in the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions, and they are mapped similarly to their respective buttons (and triggers).

However, the controls sometimes encounters glitches and bugs, which hampers the experience of playing Grand Theft Auto IV. The control scheme isn’t perfect, but it’s suited to both controllers effectively well. I have to give it a 9/10, because the controls are buggy sometimes.

Graphics - 10/10 - Believable and Breathtaking Views of the City

Everything in Liberty City looks great - the night view of Star Junction and the Algonquin Bridge is magnificent. The Dask and Dawn sunlight effects are just plain beautiful. Everything is made so beautiful and believable by the RAGE (Rockstar Advanced Game Engine) graphics engine.

The cars and mirrors also have real-time reflections, and everything in Liberty City is very detailed. There are potholes on the road, simple markings and parking lines. The floor is also littered with newspapers, cups and well… litter.

The road reflects light when it’s raining heavily, and the screen shows blood when you kill someone or are being shot at. The water drips down the camera when it’s raining. The pedestrian also carry umbrellas. Everything boasts of detail. The draw distance, immersive details and graphic filters are superb and believable, which I think it deserves a 10/10 score.

Physics - 10/10 - Euphoric to the core

The Physics of Grand Theft Auto IV is powered by the Euphoria Physics engine, one of the world’s best physics simulation engine for video games. Objects, Vehicles and Bodies now look realistic in motion. This is one of the major plus points for Grand Theft Auto IV, being a sandbox action-style video game.

Some of the really amazing and realistic simulation I’ve seen in the game is that you can actually barge through pedestrians by running through them and they will fall. It’s also very easy to get runned down by a car, fly through the car’s windscreen, or fall off a motorcycle and lose a big chunk of health

Grand Theft Auto IV has random physics and a realistic driving control - every vehicle handles differently and the walkng style and driving control changes with the terrain. Although what this amazing physics engine can do is limited by the game, a PC port of Grand Theft Auto IV would certainly expand the fun factor, if it ever comes out.

Gameplay - 9/10 - 200% Action-Packed Criminal Gameplay

The 90 story missions are scripted and designed very well, which allows for player choices. Kill this bitch or let her live? Go for the money or the man? No matter which choice you choose, the missions are full of action, crime, wit, humor and drama.

The side-missions are also more fun than in previous Grand Theft Auto games. The hidden packages, Taxi, Paramedic and Firefighter missions are gone and replaced with Races, Assasinations, Flying Rats (diseased pigeons, 200 of them to terminate), QUB3D (a fun arcade puzzle game!) and a little more exciting Vigilante missions.

You also get to go and hang out with friends and do some exciting activities such as Boating and going out for a Heli-ride. This version of Grand Theft Auto is much more exciting in gameplay than in any other previous ones too.

Also, the HUD is minimalistic and stuff like weapons and cash indicators and wanted levels only appear when you need them to. The clock can now be seen from your Mobile Phone, and it is much easier to travel around Liberty City now with the waypoint and GPS system. For those who were fustrated with other open-world driving games, this one is the best of them all.

Features - 10/10 - Surprising and Fun Features

The new features in Grand Theft Auto IV are great. They are fun to mess around with, and they’re also surprising. Well, for example we have the mobile phone, which is used for Multiplayer and cheats, as well as for mission purposes.

One of the many new features is the new cover and combat system. You press LB or L1 to cover behind objects. Any kind of objects: Cars, Walls, and all the sort. Shooting also gives you and over-the-shoulder view and an enhanced damage system. Everything is more realistic - for example, you (and your enemies alike) will have to take cover behind objects during combat, because just like in real life, a few shots can take a man down. To add to the fun, Grand Theft Auto IV has 15 weapons for you to choose from that are all suited for different occasions.

Also, there’s the wonders of the internet that we cannot forget. There are a few hundred webpages in Grand Theft Auto IV’s in-game internet, and there are lots of funny content in there. The guys at Rockstar Games really put in a lot of work into the webpages, and I must applaud them. There’s full of parody of the internet. Amazing stuff. The biggest feature, however, is the Multiplayer option, read about it under its own section.

Of course, there are a lot of other cool features too, like the ability to watch TV. Once again, there’s also lots of stuff in there, which really makes Liberty City feel like a real place. There are mission-specific features too, like the ability to cling off a helicopter and a truck or better still - calling the guy that needs to be killed to identify him. Very interesting features which I feel can be expanded.

Music/Audio - 10/10 - Superb Sound Quality, Best Selection of Music

Few hundereds of songs sit on the radio dial of Grand Theft Auto IV. All of them are amazingly, quality songs. There are big names such as DJ Green Lantern, Nas, Kanye West, Elton John and Busta Rhymes. But, there are also many indie artists which make good music. The 16 radio stations provide a wide selection of music which fit in very well with the games’ ambience.

The Audio is also in superb quality. You can almost feel the ambience of the city. The city sounds real and the cutscene audio is in perfect quality too. For example, you can walk out on the streets and hear a combination of sounds - radio blasting, cars honking, vehicle engines. Actually, it’s the only video game I’ve played with the most superb audio quality.

Cutscenes/Video FX/Animation - 9/10 - Realistic Facial Expressions and Animation

Occasionally, the animations in Grand Theft Auto IV encounters a glitch. Forgive them by all means, and you get superb animations in cutscenes and in the game while you’re on a mission or even driving or running down the street. However, if we forget the glitch, this should be 10/10, but the glitches can get annoying sometimes.

Also, if you’ve played the game, you should have realized that the facial expressions are rather realistic. You can see the emotions of the characters - Happy, Sad, Dissapointed, Angry, Surprised. All of these cool animations are fully realized with the help of Image Metrics. I really can’t help but praise it.

Multiplayer - 9/10 - The best video game that can played on Xbox LIVE or PSN

Grand Theft Auto IV includes the standard modes that you can find in any other multiplayer video game, but with a Grand Theft Auto twist to it. You select Multiplayer from the in-game Mobile Phone, and you can customize your character with a variety of clothing options.

The Multiplayer option expands on the story missions by including co-operative multiplayer missions, although they’re all Petrovic’s mission for each of these modes that you choose. They are repetitive, meaning that the mission structure is the same for the same multiplayer mode everytime you play. It might get boring after a while, but the race and deathmatch modes can make up for this.

The online multiplayer interface isn’t really user-friendly, but the rest of the experience comes from the people (or douchebags) you’re playing with. What’s bad though, is that you can’t play the mini-games such as Bowling, Darts, Pool or QUB3D with people online. Other than that, it’s the best video game you can play multiplayer with your friends on Xbox LIVE or PSN. We hope this goes onto the PC.

Setting/Location/Ambience - 10/10 - Liberty, anyone?

So, I left this to the last, to sum up everything. Grand Theft Auto IV has a great overall New-Yorkish ambience. The graphics, physics, controls, story, music, audio - everything contributed to the amazing ambience of the game.

Liberty City is a cool place, you can really have real fun in any part of the city and there’s really no limitation to the fun you can have. The In-Game TV shows, Radio Stations and Internet Websites are so vast that you cannot really ever get bored. Grand Theft Auto IV, trust me, is the best video game you will ever be able to play this year.

Grand Total Score: 96/100
Fun Factor - 11/10 - The ONLY Video Game you can play for a lifetime and it’s still fun

“Hello?”

“Richie, its Vito.” Vito said.

“What do you want Vito?” Richie asked.

“Where the f*ck do you get off beating the sh*t out of my brother, and taking his money?” Vito yelled into the phone.

“He owed me money for protection, so I took it. If you got a problem you can bring your ass down to the Atlantic Quays later to talk to me face to face. Don’t ever call me up like this again.” Richie replied calmly and hung up his cell phone.

He walked into his Atlantic Quays warehouse and saw three of his men there waiting, Lorenzo Remigio, Dickie Zitto, and Nero Perelli.

“So you mean you wouldn’t lay Candy Suxxx if you had the chance?” Dickie questioned.

“No, that p*ssy has had more sausage in it then a meat store.” Lorenzo answered.

“Just like you.” Dickie said with a chuckle as he rose to his feet.

Dickie walked over to Richie, “Hey skip how you doing?”

“F*cking Vito is breaking my balls over this sh*t with his brother.” Richie replied. “Take a seat you guys we need to chat.” Lorenzo, Nero, and Dickie took their seats.

“I got some big plans but first I need to know where Johnny Orso is?” Richie said.

“My source inside the department says Johnny is hiding out with one of his drug dealers, Quickie-G.” Dickie replied.

“Why?” Lorenzo questioned.

“He’s been running his mouth about me since I got out of prison. He’s pissed off because I got a bump and he didn’t.” Richie answered. “Lorenzo, you and Nero go out and make your weekly collections.”

“Ok Richie.” Lorenzo replied, and then left the warehouse with Nero.

“Dickie, you and me will take care of Johnny. Sergio will go with us to, so I need you to get him a piece.” Richie ordered.

“Ok Richie, no problem.” Dickie replied.

Just then, Felix walked in with a big man. This big man was dressed in a black dress shirt and black dress pants with a black leather coat on. His greasy pony tail bounced around as he walked in, and this man was Sergio.

“Hey Richie, how you doing man?” Sergio said happily.

“I’m good, how was your flight?” Richie answered.

“It was great.” Sergio responded.

“Alright well I got some work that I’ll need your help with. It has to do with Johnny Orso.” Richie replied.

“Ok no problem.” Sergio replied.

“Hey Richie I’m going to need some money from you for my medical bill.” Felix said.

“What medical bill?” Richie questioned.

“The one for my coffee burns on my face. You owe me.” Felix answered.

“Oh yeah? Ok well…” Richie started to say before he kicked Felix between the legs.

He began kicking and stomping on Felix for a little while until he got tired.

“Show that to the doctor. F*cking little cry baby. You got some balls on you, you know that prick.” Richie said coolly.

Another one. Enjoy.

Richie finished the last of his veal and ordered another cup of coffee at Patrizio’s Bistro. It had been a week since he was released from prison and now he planned to get his crew together. The waitress brought Richie his coffee and asked if he wanted anything else.

“No sweetie I’m good, here’s a little something for you.” Richie answered and handed the waitress a hundred dollars.

He sipped his coffee some and stared at the waitress. The waitress smiled at Richie and continued about her business. Felix Petraglia walked into the Bistro dressed in a nicely tailored navy blue Italian suit.

“Holy sh*t, look who it is, I thought I’d never see the day that Richie Copperelli would get released.” Felix yelled out as he walked in.

“And I never thought I’d see the day when I had to look at your ugly face again.” Richie replied.

“You’re still a ball buster, ha, ha, ha. I heard about the bump up, congratulations.” Felix replied.

The two men hugged and sat down at the table. Richie continued sipping his coffee and Felix began the chat.

“So did you hear about Nicky?” Felix questioned.

“What are you talking about?” Richie responded.

“Nicky got arrested last night. Word on the street is the feds are going to put him behind bars for a while. Angelo is in charge while Nicky is away.” Felix replied.

“That’s too bad. But listen, I need you to go pick up Sergio at the airport and meet me at my warehouse in the Atlantic Quays. We got some business to discuss there.” Richie ordered.

“Ok, I understand.” Felix responded.

“Well what the f*ck are you still here for?” Richie said.

“I thought I would order a coffee or something before I go.” Felix answered.

Richie threw his cup of hot coffee in Felix’s face, “There, now get the f*ck out of here.”

Felix screamed at the feeling of coffee burning his skin. He quickly wiped it off as best as he could with napkins and left immediately to go pick up Sergio. Richie left his table and walked up to the cash register. Patrizio was there messing with some papers underneath the counter.

“Hey Patrizio, you got this week’s payment?” Richie questioned.

“No, go f*ck yourself. My brother Vito says I don’t have to pay you, if you have a problem, then talk to him.” Patrizio answered angrily.

“Go f*ck myself huh? Ok.” Richie replied calmly.

Richie walked over to a table and grabbed a steak knife out of some random civilian’s hand. He walked back over to the cash register and picked the free candy dish up. He emptied the candy out and slammed the glass bowl over Patrizio’s head. Patrizio collapsed to the floor. Richie jumped over the counter and began beating Patrizio in the head with the big glass candy dish over and over again until he finally broke it into pieces. Next Richie took the steak knife and stabbed it into Patrizio’s shoulder. But Patrizio was already past out on the floor and wasn’t moving at all. Richie casually opened the cash register and took his protection payment for the week out, and then left.

Well, there isn’t much about Grand Theft Auto IV, but here’s a skit for all of you out there! Broker, Dukes, Bohan! Shouting out to all my Bohan hustlers!

I’m back after a LONG hiatus. Hope you enjoy this.

The grey clouds began to finally drizzle some rain as Richie walked down the sidewalk some more. He came to an alley and saw three drug dealers chatting about different things. The dealers were Puerto Rican, and Richie walked right up to them wielding his newly acquired aluminum baseball bat.

“Hey guys, I see you’re still selling dope on the streets.” He said softly.

“Yeah we are Richie, when did you get out?” One of the dealers asked.

“Today and I only want you dealing for me and no one else. I got some good stuff that I’m going to acquire and it will make us all a lot of money, got it?” Richie answered.

“Alright Richie, we understand. Just give us a call when you acquire it.” The dealer in the middle replied.

Richie walked off and down the street some more until he reached an apartment building. He walked inside and up a few flights of stairs to his apartment. He knocked on the door and with in seconds Sara answered it. Sara was so filled with excitement that she jumped into his arms and began hugging and kissing Richie constantly.

“Alright it’s good to see you to baby, but do you think I can come and eat some dinner atleast?” Richie replied out of breath from kissing his wife.

“Yeah honey sure, come on in.” Sara replied as Richie came inside. She shut the door behind him and locked it.

Richie sat down at the table and Sara retrieved a hot plate of chicken parmesan from the oven.

“Chicken parmesan? My favorite, I like that sexy black dress you have on. It shows off your cleavage really well.” Richie said with a smile as he took a bite of chicken parmesan, “This is really great babe.”

Richie took a few more bites as Sara answered with a kiss on the cheek. Sara sat down as well and ate dinner with Richie. Once the couple finished, Richie carried Sara into the bedroom. He dropped her on the bed and pulled her skimpy black dress off her to find no underwear underneath. Richie smiled and quickly took off all his clothes.

“It’s been so long since we…”

“I know.” Richie interrupted his wife.

He began kissing her up and down her body. The couple looked deeply into each other’s eyes, and finally they began to make love as the sun set outside and the moon rose high into the dark sky.

The next day…

Richie woke up and slowly slipped out of bed. He climbed in the shower and turned it on. It was the first time in ten years he didn’t have to shower with his back against the shower head. Once he finished, he dressed himself in his worn out shoes, khaki pants, a white tank, and a blue dress shirt left unbutton. Next he slid his gold cross around his neck and strapped a small gun holster to his ankle. He pulled a .48 pistol out of his closet and strapped it inside the gun holster on his ankle. Richie covered it up with his pant leg and grabbed the keys to his car. He also grabbed his old cell phone.

He left the apartment with Sara still asleep. Richie walked down the stairs and out the door. He entered his sentinel and ignited the engine. He planned to take back all of his old business ventures, but first he needed to talk to Nicky. Richie drove to Nicky’s mansion and parked his car. He walked up the stairs and stopped at the guard.

“Who are you?” The guard asked.

“I’m Richie Copperelli; I need to talk with Nicky.” Richie replied smoothly.

“Hold on.” The guard said and left for a minute.

A few minutes later the guard came back, “Ok, he’ll see you now.”

“Alright.” Richie responded.

He began to walk inside when he kneed the guard in the balls. “Show me some respect next time you see me.” He said sternly.

Richie walked into the Don’s office and hugged Nicky.

“It’s good to see you Richie, what’s it been ten years?”

“Yeah Nicky, I got out yesterday. Now I want to talk to you about getting all my old businesses back.” Richie answered.

“Well Rich I got something better then that for you. I know about all the sh*t you did for this family before you went to jail and you’re still the best earner this family has ever had. That’s why I’m making you a Captain.” Nicky responded with a smile.

“Oh man, Capo? That’s great, thank you!” Richie replied with a smile.

The two men hugged and then sat back down to continue discussing business.

“I’m also giving you control of the garbage business. It’s a big money maker and it’s a great asset. I’ll have some bigger business plans in the near future, but I’ll give you time to get on your feet. Anyways, get out of here I got a meeting with the mayor.” Nicky stated.

Richie bid his good byes and left the office. On the way out he pulled his cell phone out a dialed a number. Now that he was a captain, he needed the best bodyguard available and there is only one guy he could think of for the job.

“Hello?”

“Hey Sergio, its Richie Copperelli.”

“Richie? Quando avete uscito della prigione?” Sergio replied.

“I just got out today and I was made Capo. I want you to come be in my crew like old times.” Richie responded, “How fast can you fly to America from Italy?”>

To be continued…

This week, the PS3 version of Grand Theft Auto IV has been patched, after a myriad of problems relating to the game freezing and crashing the console. Also, check out the spoiler about the “L1 - Zombie”. A user from the GameTrailers forum has provided screenshots for a strange multiplayer “Easter egg” that has been spotted, which seems to be an exclusive Zombie player model.

Good news too, Grand Theft Auto IV has sold around six million copies in its first week on sale - with around 3.6 million copies being grabbed on the first day. This means that the game is said to have grossed $500 million to date.

Microsoft also announced that over 31 million hours of play had been racked up on the Xbox 360 version to date, with 9.7 million hours of play in the game’s “seamless” Xbox Live multiplayer mode. Microsoft also reminds us of the exclusive episodes which are coming to Xbox Live this fall by claiming they’ll provide “hours of additional gameplay”.

Chart Track also announced that Grand Theft Auto IV sold 926,000 copies during its first week on sale, grossing £39.9m which easily places it as the most successful video game launch in UK history. Perhaps most interestingly though, it has sold more copies in its first week than every game released in 2007 combined, excluding FIFA 08, Dr. Kawashima’s Brain Training and Call of Duty 4.

Have fun playing and messing about in Liberty City. Do come and join me in a multiplayer match sometime - add my gamertag (HoT dEv1L 666) on Xbox LIVE! Well, what’s my score for Grand Theft Auto IV after playing for a week? I will say that the fairest score would have to be 99.9/100. Sorry for the late updates, once again. Stay tuned for more Grand Theft Auto IV post-release news, multimedia, mission walkthroughs and fanboy community review!

Grand Theft Auto IV has just been released, the game is so big and immense, it might take some of us a while to fully explore, understand and later come to love this city. The City of Liberty has also has a beating heart. Actually, no. The heart belongs to the Statue of Happiness.

Well, what am I talking about? I’m talking about an easter egg in the game. Visit the Statue of Happiness in a helicopter, jump out and land on the roof in the torso of the statue with four doors. Enter the door that says “No Hidden Content Through Here”.
Also, we know some people love to cheat. With so many people playing Grand Theft Auto IV now, they can’t all be following the rules.
