Grand Theft Auto IV fan-made TV Spot

The Duo Group, a group of creative gamers who revises game trailers, has just done a rendition of all the three released Grand Theft Auto IV trailers and they made a “TV Spot” out of it titled “Another Day Above Ground”.

The song on the trailer is called “Talk Show Host” by Radiohead. It was originally written and used for William Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet adaptation film, by director Baz Luhrmann.

In my opinion, they did a nice job on this trailer, as a matter of fact. The scenes fit nicely with the music - a job well done. You really should give it a look. Also, you can check out more original videos at The Duo Group’s website.

NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GX2 Leaked News

Nvidia GeForce 9800 - RUMORED

It’s rumored that the image you’re seeing on the left is a leaked picture of the NVIDIA GeForce 9800, a new graphics chip that is said to support the new DirectX 10.1. The details aren’t confirmed, but it seems believable enough.

The best way is to visualize the GeForce 9800 GX2 as two NVIDIA 8800 ULTRA that has been shrunk down to 65nm and combined onto a “single” card that is at least 30% faster and will support Quad SLI.

The really leet specifications of the new NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GX2 include a 1GB frame buffer, Two PCBs, Two 65nm GPU, and a 256-bit memory bus. However, there has been no word on the clock speeds, shader clocks or anything similar yet.

Take Two Interactive acquires Illusion Softworks

MAFIA 2 | MAFIA II | GTA IV | GTA4 | GTA 4 | GTAIV | Take 2 Interactive | Take2

Recently, there was rumors going around that Take 2 Interactive will be bought by Electronic Arts. Apparently, Take 2 Interactive had bought over Illusion Softworks instead, the company who made Mafia. This seems to be a smart move, Mafia being a Grand Theft Auto-style game.

As of now, Illusion Softworks is renamed to 2K Czech. Mafia II, the upcoming sequel to Mafia that will be developed by 2K Czech, will be competing internally with Rockstar Games’ Grand Theft Auto IV.

We sure won’t want Electronic Arts to take over Take Two Interactive - it’ll be crazy. Imagine billboard advertisements of real-life brands and other Electronic Art brands and games around Liberty City. It’ll be a total madness. I’m glad that this acquisition move by Take 2 Interactive happened.

Grand Theft Auto IV Trailer 4 coming soon

GTA IV - Trailer 4 Coming Soon!

It seems that a spokesperson for Rockstar Games has confirmed that a fourth Grand Theft Auto IV trailer will be released, prior to the game appearing on store shelves, according to the German gaming site Cynamite.

According to the unnamed Rockstar Games employee, the upcoming trailer will retain the style of the previous three released Grand Theft Auto IV trailers, in that it is cinematic and contains no gameplay footage from the game itself.

There wasn’t a specific mention of the release date for the trailer, however. It might be due to the game’s release date not being confirmed yet. Grand Theft Auto IV will be released in the timeline between the months of March and April, which is when the forth trailer will be released too.

The link to the news page, which was previously working, seems to be missing from Cynamite’s site. It seems that Rockstar Games have asked for the news to be removed, from the looks of it. Please stay tuned for Rockstar Games’ official word!

Grand Theft Auto titles arrive on Steam

Grand Theft Auto Trilogy Direct Download

Previously, we reported that Direct2Drive had Grand Theft Auto III, Vice City and San Andreas, as well as other Rockstar Games titles, available for sale. Now, these titles also arrive in Steam, Valve Coporation’s popular pay-per-download internet games purchasing system.

Grand Theft Auto, Grand Theft Auto 2, Grand Theft Auto III, Vice City and San Andreas will all be sold as part of the Grand Theft Auto Collection, which costs $43.45. Although the first two “classic” titles were made available for free by the company in the past, this is the first time that all of these titles have been bundled together.

Additional titles from the company which are now available on Steam include Max Payne 1 and 2, Manhunt and Midnight Club 2. All of the company’s Steam games can be purchased in the Rockstar Collection for $69.95. As an introductory offer, all games are discounted by 10% until January 11.

In my opinion, Steam is much better than any other sevices, such as IGN’s Direct2Drive. However, if you do intend on purchasing them off Steam, you should make the ultimate choice. Steam has a discount, so make use of that!

Grand Theft Auto IV Updates!

I was shocked to have seen that my unique visitor count went up after the New Year. After all, people are getting back to work. More of them are using the computer. I don’t know, but maybe my Google PageRank has increased?

Thank you all for coming to visit my site, it’s been a wonderful time last year. I hope things will get better this year. As I have gone back to school, which will be rather hectic this year, I will only have very little time for my blog, as well as for Grand Theft Auto IV.

Liberty City GPS Map

Recently, there has been a few Grand Theft Auto IV updates. For those that don’t know, it seems that the map of Grand Theft Auto IV’s Liberty City has been revealed, as seen in the image to the right of this post. It was spotted by a GTAForums’ member, Bluespot.

If you take a close look at the police boat scene in the third trailer, the interior of one of the boats appears to reveal a sort of Radar/GPS system revealing what may possibly be the new layout of the Liberty City map in Grand Theft Auto IV.

This scene takes place at approximately 1:24 into the trailer, if you would like to take a look for yourself. The map shown here shares similarities with the geographical layout of the real NYC, leading many Grand Theft Auto fans, me included, to even further believe that it is in fact Liberty City. However, only time will show us the truth.

Also, Brotha (a.k.a. GTA Dude) has released his new video, reanacting the third trailer of Grand Theft Auto IV in San Andreas. Click here to watch his first video, here to watch is second video and finally, click here to watch the video “GTA IV Trailer 3 in San Andreas”. Have a good day!

Happy New Year MMVIII!

Happy New Year!

It’s New Year’s day already! This year seemed like a short one. We had good times, bad times and not so good times. Christmas came and gone. Also, it seems that GameSpot’s Game of The Year is decided. As I expected, it was Bioshock. Way to go, Take 2 Interactive!

2008 seems to be a promising year ahead. Alas, our blog has survived many great hurdles. Don’t worry, we will always be a Number 1 source of Grand Theft Auto and general computer and video game news in Singapore! We will continue to report on latest updates on Grand Theft Auto IV, as well as Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots.

Once again, I would like to wish you guys a Happy New Year’s Day! How are you feeling right now? Really great? Or rather depressed? For those guys in the US, Happy New Year’s Eve! Look at the post I made for you guys below this one! For the rest, I wish that you would have a great year ahead!

Happy New Year’s Eve! What’s your resolution?

Happy New Year’s Eve!

2007 is almost over - a new year is befalling on us. Soon after, it will be the anniversary of -=}{oT~dEv1L 666=-’s HQ. It has been a year full of surprises and let-downs, happy times and downtimes. Let us revisit some memories…

Remember the times when the whole blog went offline? It was a real pain restoring all those posts. Also, we have moved hosts three times - from iFastNet to Byethost, then now to Kilu.

Also, remember the times of joy when those Grand Theft Auto IV screenshots and trailers were released? What about the time when Grand Theft Auto IV was delayed from its initial October 16th release date? A plain letdown.

There are of course, way too many ups and downs in the course of one year for me to describe. Well, since it’s New Year’s Eve, of course I’ve got a New Year’s resolution ready - well, I want to finally pick up some knowledge of C++, Java or XML. Also, I want to expand on this blog!

I don’t know what you guys have in mind for a New Year’s Eve celebration. A simple dinner with your family members, or a sumptuous one at a restraunt? I don’t know about myself either, perhaps a good ol’ countdown to the new year while playing Grand Theft Auto would be great?

Of course, this might as well be the last post of 2007. Tomorrow, it’s a new year - a brand new start - 2008. Of course, my only wish is for some more Grand Theft Auto IV goodies before the year ends! I guess I should not be getting too excited - it’s just a new year after all. However, I should remember that “Things Will Be Different”.

Grand Theft Auto IV System Wraps spotted in Target

Black GTA IV System Wraps for the Xbox 360 and PS3

The images you see above are taken by Jordan from Planet Grand Theft Auto. It seems that Target stores are offering a free Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3 system wrap when you pre-order Grand Theft Auto IV in the store.

A system wrap is basically several pieces that fit onto the outer portion of your console (Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3) to customize the look. These system wraps are black and they display the full Grand Theft Auto IV logo. For more details, visit your local Target store.

While this is for American kiddies only, just like the Amazon car plate offer, you can still rejoice. It seems that the Grand Theft Auto IV release date has been further narrowed down, and is Rockstar Games’ idea of a Christmas present, I guess.

Remember those screenshots and artwork released shortly before Christmas? Those screenshots were from the Grand Theft Auto IV Christmas goodie pack sent out to webmasters of certified fan sites. Together with the screenshots, came a release date - “Spring 2008″.

Nothing special, it seems. Most of us seem to think that Spring 2008 is the same period that’s between February to April. Well, that isn’t ture. According to the Merriam-Webster dictionary, Spring is definitely the period from March to May. However, the second quater of Take Two Interacive’s fiscal year of 2008 is from February to April.

So, what does that mean? If Grand Theft Auto IV has to be released in Spring 2008, as well as in the time period of the second quater of Take Two Interacive’s fiscal year of 2008, it has to be released between the months of March and April.

Coincidentally, the release date provided my Target and MCV are March 2008 and 25th April, respectively. All these means Grand Theft Auto IV will indeed be released in a time period between these two months.

Of course, the release dates provided by MCV and Target are nothing but rumors. The release date window that’s provided by Rockstar Games seems to be between March and April, so we better stick to it. While this is nothing but old news, it is indeed something that other Grand Theft Auto fan sites haven’t seem to spot.

An Xbox 360 motion-sensing controller possible?

Xbox 360 Motion Sensing Controller?

While it might be nothing more than just a rumor, Team Xbox has confirmed that “Microsoft has been researching alternative input technologies for the last two years, including vision-based recognition such as the one used on Xbox Live Vision, as well as motion sensing technologies similar to those seen in the Microsoft Freestyle Pro and the PlayStation 3 SIXAXIS.”

Also, Team Xbox said that Microsoft has looked at ways to improve the right analog stick input and we’ll eventually hear more about these efforts soon. In fact, it’s more than a first-party tilt mod in the works, Team Xbox said.
