Prankster edits Singaporean Wikipedia articles

It’s pretty funny. I just read this on a fellow Singaporean’s blog. He was poking around Wikipedia, and according to him, he found that IP address 203.116.59.28 is “placing all sorts of lies in Wikipedia”. In actual fact, this guy was editing Singaporean articles, and in place of the original text, is some insulting text.
In the Lee Kuan Yew article, he wrote:
He is very old.
In the Lee Hsien Loong article, he wrote and replace an image:
Notice how he bears the appearance of a horse with his long facial features, giving one the unpleasant feeling of being in a zoo
(Also changed Lee Hsien Loong picture into a horse)
In the Singapore Dollar article, he wrote:
You mean you do not like Sing dollar?
In the Li Hongyi article, he wrote this:
Li is also found to be suffering from cerebral palsy, lunacy and syphilis.
Li is known to be suffering from dyslexia.
He is also:
interested in Odex
likes changing Baby-G into Baby-G Spot
quite a fan of Honour and Passion
thinks Liang Po Po is a horror film
prefers calling Bollywood ‘Boobywood’
believes that Mortal Kombat’s Jarek is a 3SG in the RSAF
These days, where most of the criminals play Saint’s Row and operate on the internet, it isn’t really uncommon to spot people adding chunks of nonsense in Wikipedia after removing the original text.
Anyway, I think it’s really stupid of this guy to edit those pages. Just a few clicks from the administrators, and all the changes would be undone, and he would be banned and probably reported to the authorities. Don’t you think he’s just plain stupid?
Just like how many netizens would recommend, everytime you need information for research, never ever trust just one source, such as Wikipedia. Remember, there are still other sources, such as the online versions of Encarta or Britannica.
Anyway, if you think what this guy did by editing Singapore-related articles is stupid, then repost this story on your blog, and defame him. Once again, his IP address is 203.116.59.28. Please do not use this story to send a chain mail to other people, thanks. Also, give your comments on this article if you find it interesting.
I’ve got Vista!

Oh yeah! It’s been more than half a year since Windows Vista was released, and now I finally got Windows Vista Ultimate, which I’m currently dual booting with Windows XP Professional.
Well, I’ve been using it for few hours now, and I can tell you that it’s great! There are some minor drawbacks, though. First is incompatibility; Manhunt doesn’t run on Windows Vista, though the Game Explorer detected it. However, Grand Theft Auto III, Vice City and San Andreas worked, so did all the classic Grand Theft Auto games (which did not work on Windows XP).
Also, Windows Vista was slow when logging in and loading the Welcome Screen, although it took only 7 seconds to boot up. Actually, I’d rather Windows Vista took longer to boot up then to hamper the load times of the Welcome Screen.
Still, driver compatibility problems plague Windows Vista, until now. I had difficulties finding drivers for my Canon Printer. Luckily I still had Windows XP installed and I can always switch back. But that’s the hardware manufacturers’ fault, isn’t it?
Well, other than that, I don’t think Windows Vista had any other minus points. Actually, I thought Windows Vista wouldn’t play Grand Theft Auto III, Vice City or San Andreas, but interestingly, it handled it well, much better than Windows XP. Also, the classic Grand Theft Auto games did not work on Windows XP, so I was shocked when it worked on Windows Vista - quite interesting.
Actually, in my opinion, if you have a decent graphics card, I don’t think Windows Vista really sucks as much as some people claimed. This time round in Windows Vista, explorer.exe didn’t crash so often, and non-responsive applications usually didn’t have to be terminated.
So far, I’m still enjoying Windows Vista, which I think is great! What’s more, dual-booting Windows XP and Windows Vista couldn’t be any easier. For those who thinks Windows Vista sucks, I would like to prove otherwise - Windows Vista has better compatibility for Windows 95/98/2000/ME applications than Windows XP.
Ok, guys, I hope you’ll get Windows Vista, if you haven’t. Dual-boot it with Windows XP, and I guarantee you’ll enjoy it! Windows Vista just rocks - more than Mac OS X Tiger! Leopard rocks, by the way, much more than Vista, if not for the fact that Vista actually plays more quality games than OS X. Both Operating Systems still rock, though. Don’t you guys think so?
The Apple iPod Touch hype

Recently, there was much of a hype surrounding a new version of the iPod. In other words, Apple will be ushering in the new generation of iPods, dubbed the iPod Touch, soon on September 30th 2007. You can take a look at the iPod Touch here.
Apparently, it seems that the iPod touch is like an iPhone ripped of all the phone functions. It looks exactly like the iPhone and like the iPhone, it comes with MacOSX installed. The iPod Touch is confirmed to have WiFi capabilities and you can use Safari, YouTube and make purchases from the iTunes Store.
On the pricing part, $299 buys you an 8GB sytem and $399 will buy you a bigger and better 16 GB model, complete with most of the fanciful functions introduced in the iPhone which was mentioned above. The two versions are expected to be similiar but comes in different storage sizes.
So far, the iPod Touch looks neat, and as a piece gadgetry, it’s as cool as the iPhone. It’s thin, and it plays Videos, and I’m kind of excited about it. Aren’t we all? You might want to give a comment on what you think about the next-generation iPod Touch.
Need for Speed ProStreet hands-on

GameSpot recently gave us a nice hands-on preview on the Wii version of Need for Speed ProStreet. And here, -=}{oT~dEv1L 666=-’s HQ would like to give you an insight into this preview, breaking it down into sizeable and readable bits, and giving you our comments and thoughts on this.
Basically, with Need for Speed ProStreet, EA Games are still staying with street racing, but it will be like taking some of the standard street racing events that have been in the previous NFS games and putting them in an all-new environment.
The general aim of the game is to become the king of street racing, and you’ll be able to do that by completing different types of races, like drag racing, drift racing and speed challenges. The different events will take place in 14 different locations, and each event will consist of multiple races.
Also, in Need for Speed ProStreet, racing is now taken more seriously, as your cars can be totaled. You will have to start all over again if you total too many cars at one location.
The Wii version of the game were shown to the reviewers, and as expected, you control the cars’ movements by holding the Wii remote sideways and tilting it side to side.
Besides this, the game also has three levels of assists. Family mode lets the game take care of braking and some of the steering. Racer-level assists, on the other hand, gives you a manual control of the vehicle without you losing control of it. King mode, however, will disable most of the assists.
Throughout their hands-on session on Need for Speed ProStreet, the reviewers concluded that the Wii version of ProStreet handled quite well in overall and it looked better than Carbon did, and expected a quite positive reception from the gaming community.
Well, from this hands-on preview of Need for Speed ProStreet, I think it might open doors for better racing games on the Wii in the future. What do you think about this NFS ProStreet Wii Hands-on? Kindly give us your thoughts and opinions on this topic by writing us a comment.
Cool Animation - Sigg Jones

Well, Sigg Jones is a very nicely done animated video - much better than those crappy Japanese Anime Shows, I guess. According to the site, Sigg Jones is a “3D Urban Tale with Men and Magic”. It’s made by french students from supinfocom school using the program 3DSmax.
Well, basically, the story starts when the heavy weight champion wrestler Sigg Jones drinks a strange Powerdrink he loses control of himself unleashing all the good he had. His Agent will have to set him straight… Actually, Sigg jones has a website. You can visit them by clicking here.
Well, this kind of reminds me of Artemis Fowl, where Urban Cities and People meet with Magic. Actually, I think that Agent looks like Artemis Fowl and Sigg Jones looks something like a fusion of No1 and Butler -very ironic, isn’t it? Perhaps Sigg Jones was inspired by Artemis Fowl? I don’t know.
Ok, here’s all I have to say, what about you? Anyway, just watch the Sigg Jones animated video, and tell us how great it is by giving us your comments, because your views really matter here at -=}{oT~dEv1L 666=-’s HQ.
YouTube offline?

Well, it seems that YouTube, has again, gone offline. Well, it is at the time of posting. Look at the posts under this one and you’ll know that I’m telling the truth. Try visiting YouTube using your browser and you’ll know that it has gone offline again.
Sadly, this is now the first time YouTube has gone offline. YouTube has already gone offline for many times since 2005, so much so that if I dugged this story there’ll be many similiar articles that have already been dugged. Anyway, I’m just going to have this article dugged.
Actually, I feel that it’ll cause such a hassle for many internet users, since there are many videos being stored on YouTube’s servers, and there are also many users using their services. What about you? How do you feel about YouTube going offline? You might want to give your comments on this.
UPDATE: YouTube is back online again. It’s a rather short while, but it’s still such a hassle for webmasters like me. Anyway, just give your comments on the recent YouTube downtime.
Content Aware Resizing? Hell Yeah!

Well, I know that many readers of -=}{oT~dEv1L 666=-’s HQ’s readers love to complain about how “technological” the content can be. Yeah, humans like them can be “content aware”. How would you like it if Adobe Photoshop, Mozilla Firefox and Windows Live Messenger would be content aware too?
Hell yeah! Finally, someone has managed to come up with a content aware image/content resizing technology. In other words, it’s supposed to be a way of resizing images and content, the smart way. It will untilize the space available to expand and reposition itself, and it is also able to “retarget” the image. Cropping and scaling now also looks neater with this piece of technology.
Conventionally, when you resize webpages, the way the words appear would be dependant on CSS (Cascading Style Sheets). However, with this smart content aware resizing techonology, the content will now expand and contract and make do with whatever space is available (fluid content).
Isn’t it useful? If you haven’t watched the video, you might want to do so above. It’s simply an amazing piece of technology! I would appreciate if you would just give your comments on this video. Plus, a little bit of site-related stuff here - Version 2.9 of -=}{oT~dEv1L 666=-’s HQ will be arriving soon - cheers!
September Greetings…

Well, generally, it seems that time goes very fast indeed for me. It’s as if it’s only yesterday that the blog went offline for 2 days. It seems as if it’s only last week that I wrote the “Windows XP to Vista lookalike transformation tutorial”.
And as I’m writing this now, it’s already September, the beginning of a new month. It’s also the beginning of starting a new monthly post archive for -=}{oT~dEv1L 666=-’s HQ. And as always, I would like to greet all of you, readers of -=}{oT~dEv1L 666=-’s HQ, for this is a brand new month of the year.
This year has been quite a fast paced year for me - this is already the ninth month. Since the infancy of this blog in the beginning of this year, when design and layout only started to take shape, we have grown to become bigger each month.
The current statistics as of the time of writing shows that there have been approximately 5230 unique visitors that have visited us since March 2007, and there are 98 posts (including this post) and 65 comments. The forum, as you can see, has not been used by anybody for a long time, and so I have decided to take it down from the site as it is irrelevant.
Also, throughout this period of about seven months, the way and style of my writing has also matured, suprisingly. I wan’t exactly a gifted writer from the start, and this has come to me surprisingly. Anyway, I hope -=}{oT~dEv1L 666=-’s HQ will continue to grow in the future. I hope you have enjoyed reading this rather boring post. Good luck, guys!
Futurama - A Climate in Crisis

Well, I’ve been on YouTube for a few minutes already, and I just stumbled upon this video above. It’s basically sort of a promotional film for An Inconvenient Truth.
Actually, it’s kind of like the futurama fused with An Inconvenient Truth. It’s supposed to be a comedy - funny and cheesy. Basically, it potrays Al Gore as a cartoon character from the TV show Futurama.
I think this short video clip is a very meaningful one. It conveys the message of Global Warming efficiently across to the audience - very informative and simple to understand, too.
Well, the problem of Global Warming and the Earth’s climate being in crisis has already existed for a long time, and it isn’t really solved yet. Luckily, Planet Earth has a saviour. One man stepped up to take up the job, and he is none other than Al Gore.
As Global Warming is a, well, global issue, I would like to invite all of you, as -=}{oT~dEv1L 666=-’s HQ’s readers, to take action in the movement for the climate in crisis. So, where can you start? You can start here now!
Grand Theft Auto IV: Vice City - My fanart
- By -=}{oT~dEv1L 666=- | August 28th, 2007 | Grand Theft Auto
- Post a Comment »

Well, basically, this is a fanart I did for Grand theft Auto IV. It depicts a promotional image of the Grand Theft Auto IV Episodic Content, Grand Theft Auto IV: Vice City.
And of course, every product, game or not, requires a porduct description. And so - we present, the product description of Grand Theft Auto IV: Vice City…
“The favorite city of all time comes back, this time in stunning high definition visuals, exclusive to the Xbox 360. Download Grand Theft Auto IV: Vice City when it comes out on Xbox Live and play it straight away. Requires Internet Connection and Xbox Live subscription.”
“It’s Vice City, 2008. Niko has lost everything, including respect, street cred and money. And now, Niko Bellic has to pay a little visit to his old friend in Little Havanna. Soon, it turns into car chases, gunfights, and a manhunt on his friend-turned-enemy, John A. Looney, which took away all these. Now, he has to hunt him down and silence him once and for all.”
Please give your feedback on this by commenting to this post. Cheers!
