New York politicians upset about V-Tech flash game

Recently, the Staten Island Advance website reported of a flash game, V-Tech, that sparked outrage among american citizens and netizens.

V-Tech, or rather “V-Tech rampage”, was a simple 2D flash game based on the Virginia Tech shootings and Massacre commited by gunner Cho Seung Hui, who was a student at Virginia Tech. This simple game tells the story of the whole incident and lets the player control Cho Seung Hui, the gunner.

The game starts with the player (Cho Seung Hui), who is given a task to kill Emily, reflecting the happenings of the real-life incident, where Emily was shot down brutally with Cho’s 9mms.

The game has a total of “3 levels of stealth and murder”, as claimed by the creator of this game. I have not finished playing it, but I don’t think I should; bad graphics, bad gameplay. Why should I anyway? You can try it out though.

Linux violates 235 patents, Microsoft claims

It’s free, it’s fast and it’s reliable. Linux has had thousands, if not millions of users worldwide since it was launched. Many companies use it in their data centers too, such as IBM. People just simply love it, because it is not just faster, but safer than MacOSX and Windows.

But now, there’s a major setback for the Linux distrubutors, creators, users and fans. Microsoft claims the open-source OS has violated a total of 235 patents, and is considering taking the creators of Linux to court about this matter.

We hate to say it, and we hate to see thousands to millions of Linux users and supporters dissapointed, but Linux will be sent to it’s grave soon. Yeah, real soon, if Microsoft decides to take action against it.

So, here’s the round-up. There are two factions. There’s Linux. There’s Microsoft, with Windows. So, who will be the ultimate winner?? I guess we’ll know soon enough.

Negative impacts of Windows Vista?

In just a few months after Windows Vista was officially launched, Websites, Newspapers and TV channels all around the globe have reported of the Negative effects of Windows Vista on End-users, as well as the horrorific experience using it.

Whilst Vista can play Halo 2, supports DirectX 10 and has the magnicifent Aero GUI, Microsoft’s new Operating System is reported to have many bugs, and in some cases, even more than in XP. Of which, the built-in Windows Update Downloader can spread Malware, reported Symantec.

Also, Angus Kidman said in a Blog report carried by ITWire that many employees of a company that had migrated to Vista reported horrors using the new Windows OS. They also found that in Vista, “nothing that works better than in Windows XP, dozens of things that are annoyingly different without being a functional improvement, and several things that work at best intermittently and at worst not at all.”

This is a grave matter for Microsoft, as well as for PC Gamers. We don’t want to miss that Halo 2, that DirectX 10 compliant Graphics Card or that Windows Vista-only game. But Vista is just simply screwed. So, should we stay on XP after seeing these horrors? Yes, please.

Grand Theft Auto Darts City?

It’s a very obvious parody on the Grand Theft Auto IV trailer countdown. It’s something many have done before; a Grand Theft Auto IV-styled logo and countdown. Aren’t we already tired of it?

Like I promised yesterday, this is a report of yet another neat Grand Theft Auto IV countdown and logo copycat spawned. This time, it’s not a game, not a Website, but why, of all things, Darts?

As you can see from the image above (click to enlarge), the countdown was used in Sky sport channel’s premier league coverage advertisment that appeared occasionally counting down to the big match, as spotted by a GTAForums member, chrislawrence.

Tired of the same old GTA parody again and again, just like me? Well, people just have to keep on embracing Grand Theft Auto in their advertisements, TV shows and Websites, because they thought they could attract more audiences.

Obviously they are wrong, they’re just advertising for Rockstar Games and GTA, aren’t they? I still cannot understand these people…

XXII versus IV - the Showdown

XXII

It’s the showdown between EA and Rockstar; the two of the biggest Electronic Game companies in the US. Well, it’s more like EA paying homage to Rockstar, as one GTAForums member suggested.

What’s going on over here, you might ask. Electronic Art’s upcoming the Simpsoms XXII game amazingly has got a logo that is styled exactly the same way the IV logo is styled.

But it could be the work of EA’s jealousy. Maybe because Grand Theft Auto IV’s going to be bigger, more popular and more money-making than any of their games. Or it could also be EA’s trademark copycat methods playing a part.

So, who will be the Winner of the showdown between the Simpsons XXII and Grand Theft Auto IV in the end? Well, obviously the Winner will eventually be IV, won’t it?

Here’s a Joke: Owned…!!

I might have to take some time out to mention this, it’s really funny! I know you guys crave for Grand Theft Auto IV (or Manhunt 2 ?) goodies, but some other day! I normally don’t write about my personal life, but this just has to be shared!

Today in school, we needed to undergo a 2.4 kilometres physical training run. It was supposed to be a test, but heck. I finished with a time of 15 minutes 40+ seconds and barely passed, but I guess there is something that’s worth more of laugh…

Here’s the story: My classmate, whose name I won’t name for legal reasons, literally just got owned today. Ok, before I continue elaborating the incident, let’s just name my classmate “Ape”.

Today, during the run, “Ape” claimed he had an Ankle Sprain, which was obviously fake, considering he used a different style of limping every round he ran. Even the Physical Education teacher doubted he had an Ankle Sprain (for pretty obvious reasons).

And so, for the whole test, “Ape” walked five rounds (totalling to approximately 2 km) and ran with a limp for one round (approximately 0.4 km). And guess what was his timing? 27 Minutes and 41 Seconds. Haha, it was really a joke! THIRTY F*CKING MINUTES TO RUN 2.4 KM?! What a joke!

After the test, we grilled him. And “Ape” admmited it was only a minor ankle pain (he still insisted it was real). But obviously, without grilling him, everyone already knew it was fake. He looked like such a loser at that time, what a pathetic ape he really was.

UPDATE: Since the incident has passed us for a long time, I’ll tell you guys his name - John Ang. It’s really lucky this one hell of an Ape is no longer in the same class with me anymore (he’s still a classic joke as ever before). What a blessing!

Got my PSP back

Well, a few days ago, I just got my PSP back from the repair shop. It still looks the same. It’s still my same, old PSP with the scratched screen.

And immediately, I told myself I had to sit down and complete Vice City Stories (I left off at 90% before it was spoilt).

I think It’ll be an easy thing to do anyway; because I’m only left with the rampages and Unique stunts anyway. Don’t worry, when I’m done with that, I’ll upload the savefile here for download.

Look at the screenshots of my desktops above. Observe the images for at least 30 seconds. Then, tell me whether is it a Windows XP desktop or a Windows Vista desktop.

You might hate to admit it, but the screenshots above really make my Windows XP desktop look like a Windows Vista one.

This is actually the result of my major desktop makeover, to make my Windows XP desktop look more like a Windows Vista desktop, without the use of WindowBlinds.

Here are some steps I took to achieve this result:
1. Install the Vista Transformation Pack by WindowsX
2. Install Blaero Start Orb
3. Install Vystal
4. Install ViStart by Windows X and MLC
5. Install Thoosje’s Sidebar.

You can also achieve the Vista look on your Windows XP PC! Just follow the steps above by clicking on the links!! Just do not forget me when you have successfully achieved the Vista look on your Windows XP PC without WindowBlinds.

May and Labor day greetings

It is already 2nd May, I know this came a day later, but anyway, I still had to give my greetings to all the readers out there!!

First and foremost, May will be a month full of surprises and anticipation in the Grand Theft Auto community. Not just May, but also the following months June, July and August. We all know Rockstar Games is full of surprises.

Also, Halo 2 for Windows Vista will be released sometime this month, with the release of Spiderman 3 the Game and the movie itself.

This month, and the months following it, is indeed a month filled with surprises, not just in Grand Theft Auto and Video Gaming, but rather, in every single aspect of life. And will the surprises be good or bad? Big or small? I don’t know. Surprises pop up, everytime, especially in this month.
