Windows Vista not the End-of-the-line

Windows Vista Ultimate edition

Recently, it’s been comfirmed by Microsoft themselves that Windows Vista might not be the End-of-the-line. Also, Vista will be last of its kind.

With that, it means that there will be no more Windows operating systems that will be running on the Windows NT/2000 interface anymore in the future, because the implementation of new features in the old interface will be more difficult for Microsoft.

Also, a new major operating system is scheduled to be released about 2-3 years from now. It will be codenamed “Blackcomb”.

So, should you purchase Windows Vista? For people who’re working, I’d say; move to Linux or wait for Blackcomb. For Gamers, I’d suggest; use XP and Vista together. Well, for Home users, I’d say; Yes, make the switch to Vista. It’s definitely worth it.

So am I upgrading to Windows Vista? I’m definitely a gamer so Hell YES!!! But I’d still need Windows XP to play my old games. I’m not making the change yet, but I’m definitely upgrading. DirectX for the Win!!

Grand Theft Auto IV real life spoof trailer

This video is the second and most interesting Grand Theft Auto spoof we’ve reported; the Real-Life spoof of the Grand Theft Auto IV trailer.

Compiled from YouTube videos of present day New York City, this video is backed by the Grand Theft Auto IV trailer audio, ripped by the folks over at PlanetGTA.

This video is really quite interesting. It shows how Grand Theft Auto IV really resembles real-life New York City. With Grand Theft Auto IV’s stunning visuals, someone could easily mistaken this video as a real GTAIV trailer. Dont’t worry, the next time I come across another Grand Theft Auto spoof video, I’ll report it here!!!

Apple gets sued over iPhone trademark

Recently, on Engadget, I came across this intersting news;

“”It is our belief that Apple intends to agree to the final document.” Not so much. We’re not quite sure what broke down in talks between Cisco and Apple, but they ain’t playing friendly no more. Cisco just announced that it has filed a lawsuit in Northern California to prevent Apple from infringing upon its registered iPhone trademark. The word yesterday was that Apple and Cisco had been involved in “extensive discussions,” and that they were expecting Apple to sign up for whatever final agreement they proposed. “Cisco entered into negotiations with Apple in good faith after Apple repeatedly asked permission to use Cisco’s iPhone name,” says Mark Chandler of Cisco. “There is no doubt that Apple’s new phone is very exciting, but they should not be using our trademark without our permission.” Obviously all we’ve heard so far is Cisco spin on the situation, but so far it sounds like they’re being fairly reasonable with Apple on this — it is their own dang trademark after all. So what gives, Apple?”

Basically, Cisco is filing a lawsuit against Apple for copyright infringement. Apparently, it seems that before this, the two companies had already came to an agreement about the name iPhone. However, a disagreement sparked again three months ago. So, lets hope all goes well for Apple, if not, no more iPhone for all of us. But they could have called it MacPhone, couldn’t they?

Blog version Updated again

This news might be in shock to you, but -=}{oT~dEv1L 666=-’s HQ has just been updated again and is now moving to version 2.5. Previously, with the last blog update, you might have seen the juiciest update ever.

However, with this update, this is not the case. Some of the features added in this update are namely the Theme Chooser & Switcher, Thickbox Image/Content viewer and the Image Gallery has also been updated.

Also, several Blog themes have been installed and you can now choose between three professionally-made themes. The themes installed are CrystalX (1.0), the classic theme from -=}{oT~dEv1L 666=-’s HQ 1.0, Default (2.0), the default blog theme ever since version 2.0, and last but not least, Black (2.0), which is a black variation of the default theme with a different layout and structure.

I hoped you enjoyed this recent blog update, as I have put in quite much of an effort to do up the Blog and scout for the themes. Last but not least, version 2.6, (don’t say I didn’t warn you!) will be released only if more features have been implemented.

MSN - obsulute?

Mention the acronymn ‘MSN’ (Internet Slang), and to some, it will ring some bells. To some, the popular ‘Winows Live Messenger’ by Microsoft comes to mind.

It seems that the internet slang ‘MSN’, which is used to describe Windows Live accounts, has already become almost obsulute, ever since the technology-giant Microsoft changed the brand of online services from ‘MSN’ to the name of ‘Windows Live’ for most of their services, including Hotmail.

Apparently, the Microsoft Network, or MSN for short, is now only a network targeted at the Home and Family user. However, recently, Microsoft has stated that the ‘Windows Live’ branding is not to cause confusion, but to recreate and redesign the network and the network will soon be relaunched.

Last but not least, I would like to end this off with a joke, targeted at the “MSN” internet slang. Personally, I find it funny, but many people, even online, are used to asking people “What’s your MSN?” kind of questions, when they actually mean “What’s your Windows Live ID?” or something.

So here’s my joke: when someone asks you “What’s your MSN?” or a question of similiar nature, reply with: “My Mother’s Secret Name is…”

Wiining streak

Apparently, the Nintendo Wii outsold both its competitors, the Sony Playstation 3 and the Microsoft Xbox 360, based on statistics from the NPD group announced in March this year. Please note, the “spelling mistake” in the title is deliberate.

This was totally unexpected by gamers, considering that the previous generation Nintendo consoles did badly compared to its competitors. Even the fact that it was released after the Xbox 360 who already had a few million owners the time the Wii came out did not make it fall behind. Instead, it had gone on a Wiining streak (Pun intended, for that matter) and emerged the Winner.

However, all hope is still not lost for both Sony and Microsoft. It is still early and some gamers are still hesistant in purchasing a Next-gen console. Thus, I think Wii’s winning streak will soon end, considering it doesn’t have a Gears of War, Grand Theft Auto IV, Halo 3 or Final Fantasy XIII to support it. Perhaps next year those games stated will push the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 to greater heights.

Grand Theft Auto VI?!

GTAVI

We haven’t even got our hands on Grand Theft Auto IV, yet, a game magazine, PLAY, claims that they have news on Grand Theft Auto VI! (See picture above)

However, it really seems that the people at PLAY made a mistake by switching the two letters “I” and “V” over. Nevertheless, it’s still a big enough mistake for us to laugh it off.

I was thinking; didn’t Rockstar Games take any action? Maybe this might be a ploy to trick Jack Thompson into fighting against Rockstar Games about a non-existent game Grand Theft Auto VI? Let’s just see what happens next…

Dig this!! - Literally…

Grand Theft Auto, in a Bank commercial?! Wait… Don’t get shocked… Here’s the Video we have provided for you, just right below…

After watching this video, kindly rate the commercial on a scale from one to ten in your comments!!! So, without anymore spoilers from me, you can sit back and watch the commercial below…

So…, finished watching? Could you dig that? It was really surprising to me that HSBC used Rockstar Games’ prized creation as their inspiration for their commercial. What about you? Comment!!

Version 2.4 - No? YES!!! - It’s here!!

You might ask: VERSION 2.4? No, you’re kdding right?

No, I’m not kdding. In fact it’s true. The Version 2.4 of -=}{oT~dEv1L 666=- has finally dawned upon us - on the day you’re least likely to notice because it’s most probably Sunday in most parts of the World.

Now, what’s included in 2.4? Here’s a breakdown of the juice:
1. Added a Shoutbox.
2. Added a Gallery (Music, Video and Image Gallery!)
3. Added “Now Listening” and “Now Playing”, IV Coundown and Random Gallery Picture to the Sidebar.
4. Added a Poll and Survey system.
5. Added a “Downloads” corner, together with a Downloads system plus a full-fledged counter.
6. Added a Contact form.
7. Recent posts displayed at the left Sidebar.

Forget about the Version Update History, it’s useless. Anyway, were you expecting more updates? Sorry for the dissapointment. There’ll be more juice to come when Version 2.5 dawns upon us!! Stay tuned!
